CHILDREN / YOUTH CLASSES
EARLY EDUCATION (K - 5th Gr)
Meets: Sunday, 11:00 (Aug - May)
Children meet together for music and then split into classes based on grade level.
CONFIRMATION (6th - 8th Grade)
Meets: Sundays: 12:30pm-1:30pm. (Aug – May)
Group meets at 12 noon for lunch (provided by volunteers)
Location: Harmony House (adjacent to Sanctuary)
We present our homegrown Confirmation curriculum over a three-year cycle, building significant review into each year’s program. However, if your son or daughter is missing a year or two, we will hold makeup sessions to make sure they have a comprehensive grasp of the material.
Middle & HIGH School (6th - 12th Grade)
Meets: Sunday mornings, 11:00 a.m.
Location: Harmony House (adjacent to Sanctuary)
Each Sunday the emphasis is on teaching students how to listen to and rely on God's Word in helping them make difficult and everyday decisions. Group discussions around current events supported by scripture, multimedia, websites and video clips are used to enhance lesson plans. In addition to teacher-created lesson plans, course materials also come from the ELCA youth site which provides outstanding weekly discussion and devotional themes, video mini-courses tailored directly to youth, and short films that explore our world from the perspective of Jesus. Our goal is to prepare our youth to be spiritually and morally self-sufficient as they graduate from high school and move on to independence and adulthood.
